Attended VCI from September 1970and graduated from Grade 13 in June 1975. Went to Algonquin College from which graduated with honours and Eminent Student Award in Early Childhood Education in 1977.
Worked 2 years as Preschool Teacher in Aylmer QC then came back to the area. Got married to Luc Thibodeau in 1983 and had 2 sons, Alexis and Julien , then went on to work as Head Teacher and replacement Coordinator at Garderie Mironton-Mirontaine in Grenville QC.
After spending many years with some of the leading software companies in Canada, I eventually returned to Ottawa as an IT consultant working as a Data Architect at Correctional Service Canada. My jobs have given me the opportunity to travel throughout Canada, the US, Europe, including being able to say that Sydney, Australia was home for some time. I’m sure glad that bouncing around airports and hotels are no longer part of my life !!
Anthony has been a radio announcer for Ottawa radio stations KOOL FM, Majic 100, 580 CFRA, 106.9 The Bear, Virgin Radio Ottawa. He is now an announcer with the
the new 101.9 DAWG FM Ottawa.
On the air, he is known as Anthony James and Dylan Black! He is a huge supporter of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario and is a member of the "Blood Donors for Life" program through Canadian Blood Services.
Edward Denbeigh was born on February 10, 1954, in the City of Montreal, Quebec. He moved to the Vankleek Hill area with his family full-time in the spring of 1964. Edward attended VCI from 1968-1973 in the Arts and Science program. He was active in sports (football; curling) and was a member of the Audio-Visual Club. the choir and the cadet corps.
Bev worked as a Stores Foreman at Ivaco Rolling Mills and retired after 30 years of service in 2003. Since retirement, he has spent his time buying/selling antique furniture, refinishing antiques and provide painting services (interior and exterior) for the local community. He has been married for 19 years and has two wonderful children, Mitchell (age 15) and Kaitlin (age13).
Moved to Toronto after HS. Completed my BA at York University and ESL teaching certificate at U of T. Married in 1983 and have 4 children: Elisa-24, Lianna-22, Tyler-18 and Ryley-13. Moved to beautiful Wine Country Temecula, Southern California in 2003. Planning to enjoy a wonderful summer at home with my family while they are in 'university' transition.
After VCI, I attended Queen's University where I received a BAH/BEd degree. I taught at both the elementary and high school level for five years and also taught ESL classes through Adult Ed. I tutored locally as well for many years. In 2001, I began marking correspondance papers for Stratford Career Institute and am currently self-employed.
I am married and have two sons - Clay (11) and Cole (9). We live on 5 acres just outside of Vankleek Hill.
After graduating from VCI in 1992, I attended Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, graduating in spring 1996. In 1998 I relocated to Toronto, Ontario to work for the Structural Engineering firm of Jablonsky, Ast, and Partners, starting out as a Site Inspector and in 2000 becoming a Design Engineer. In 2001 I became a P.Eng., registered with the Professional Engineers Ontario.
I am an archaeologist at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau and have been there since 1985. I will likely retire from there in a few years. For those who knew me in high school, this is what I always wanted to do since I was in primary school. Some days I must pinch myself. I have carried out research across the top of Canada in northern Québec, the shores of Hudson Bay, the Mackenzie Valley, the Thunder Bay and Sioux Lookout regions of NW Ontario and in the Ottawa Valley.
